With 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with breast cancer, starting your regular mammograms at the age of 40 is crucial. If breast cancer is in your family, meaning a grandmother, mother or sister, it is possible your doctor may require regular mammograms be started at an earlier age.
The risk of developing breast cancer increases with age. Although the highest rates seem to be between 50 and 60 years of age, we are becoming aware that the age is getting as young as women in their 20’s!
